A leaking or faulty valve will have a more pronounced affect on the unit s cooling ability. I could never find out why it wasnt getting vacuum from the va. In winter i would run a vacuum line to the valve from the carb and it worked perfectly. A leaking heater core will leak onto the floorboard and result in a sweet humid smell coolant coming from the vents while in operation.
