After blotting up any excess fluid sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the soiled area. After blotting the carpet dry or discovering the stain too late for that make a homemade cleaning solution to remove any remaining urine and its odor. If you notice a pet stain caused by urine act fast to remove any lingering messiness. Vinegar neutralizes the smell of urine just as effectively as commercial cleaners and costs much less.

Instead of adding the baking soda to the liquid sprinkle it dry liberally over the area where the accident occurred. Next soak the carpet fabric thoroughly with white distilled vinegar. Vomit feces and urine stains come out easily with a quick application of my vinegar cleaning solution. While the spot is still wet apply baking soda and a little of the vinegar solution and mix.

The combination of vinegar and baking soda makes a dynamite cleaning solution for all types of stains. Vinegar is a natural cleaning element that works to break up the ammonia in pet urine thereby killing bacteria and neutralizing the odor. White vinegar gets rid of pet urine just fine all on its own and you do not need to soak the carpet with it. White vinegar is a great cleaner for removing pet stains as well.

Mix 2 cups of lukewarm water with 2 cups of white distilled vinegar. Pour the water and vinegar solution directly onto the baking soda to create a mini cleaning volcano that will actively eat away at the stain. For horrible urine stains or smells use 100 vinegar. Blot with a soft cloth.

Mix vinegar with water in a large bowl. This will allow you to reach the bottom of the carpet fibers. Then pour vinegar directly onto the stained area soaking the entire area. You may need several paper towels to soak up all the pet urine.

Pour the cleaning solution on the pet stain and scrub. Clean as much of the pet stain as possible by blotting with a paper towel or old cloth. An added benefit is that vinegar is a deodorizer so it doesn t just remove pet stains it removes any lingering odors. For heavier stains sprinkle baking soda directly on the stain.

The white vinegar in this solution will even get rid of old dog urine stains while the baking soda will eliminate the urine odor from the carpet fibers. This recipe may also work for removing grease stains from the carpet or from clothing. Right away you ll see and hear it fizzing and cackling as it starts to work at lifting the pet stain and urine smell from the carpet. To do so mix half water and half white vinegar in a spray bottle.

Pour a 50 50 mixture of vinegar and water on the area and let it sit for 5 minutes and blot up with a cloth. Soak the carpet and you ve got a soggy carpet for days. Mix up your water and vinegar solution.
