First turn your roomba upside down and push down and hold on both of the two yellow plastic tabs at the bottom of the brush unit and lift so you can access the brushes. Take whatever fabric you re using i used brown fake fur and pink sparkly felt and lay it upside down on a flat surface. If one side of the bumper is dislodged you will see that it will be pertruding out. Turn the unit upside down and clear any debris out of the wheels. Now that you have access to the brushes you can pull the brushes out of roomba and remove any hair dirt string acc.

After some experimentation i determined that the best place to introduce lubrication was in the top surface of the gearbox roomba upside down approximately midway between the two protruding surfaces. I let our roomba go without cleaning to test the motor for about 2 3 months in a household of 3 cats and two family members with long hair.
